GoDaddy Domain Auction Observations on April 24, 2012

I was browsing some of the more active auctions on GoDaddy today and figured that I would share some of my opinions about what is being bid up on my auction interface right now.

The top auction is definitely the gem of them all, it is LLLL.com at $3565 with just over 3 days left on the auction and 26 bids.  I could think of all kind of uses for this site and would expect it to go even higher by the end.  For those who might not know llll stands for letter-letter-letter-letter.  So this would be a great name for a website dedicated to 4 letter domain names.  Maybe someone will use it to promote their portfolio of 4l.com domains or just provide an informational site.  Either way this name has a good value IMHO.

hdmovie.com at $1014 feels like it has good potential.  eforums.com $1344 feels semi decent and could be good for a giant forum community provider.

There seems to be quite a few names that do nothing for me being bid up.  Maybe they are being purchased for traffic or rankings or something.  letitfile.com $2875, alnabilagrandmakadi.com $1840, dobratut.org $1464, arec.com $1015, gorillaserver.net $1015, 6b.org $940, reprintbuyer.com $706, 8243.com $706, separationanxiety.com $682, architecturecafe.com $639, fance-consulat.org $626, 2tn.com $545

Either way this is just a random snapshot and some of my thoughts on what was going on today with godaddy auctions.  What are your thoughts and opinions on these names?

A New Domain Name Marketplace & Forum for DNers

I wanted to take a moment and try to help spread the word about a new domain marketplace and forum community that I recently discovered.  It is called DNers.com and it looks like it could eventually be a great domainer forum in the future.
